Chuchu's 2nd year of becoming stardust

Dear Yama/Chitragupta - How have you all been? A year had passed since our last interaction . How is Chuchu doing? It has been two years since you he arrived at your place. I hope he has been well treated and he has treated you both well? Well, a lot have happened in the last one year. More leaders of nations have turned their tenure to a regime. More people have been killed - thanks to the war, environmental destruction (forest fire/drought/famine/floods/pollution), and diseases. You must have noticed the turnover - month-over-month on your end; if not please check with Chitragupta. Life has been difficult for many people - sustenance is no more an option. We as a generation are letting down the future. Well, that's not why this post is about. If Chuchu was around, I would have had fun poking him with politics back home. Shruthi has made - apparently - a favourtie of Chuchu called Bambai lakidi a.k.a Kalakala. I never knew that. It is Praneetha's favourite though. We are pla

Yearly update to Stork

Each year, on or about Super Mar10 (Skanda's birthday), I write (in Facebook) an yearly update to stork about Skanda's progress through his age. I will be blogging as well, going forward. Friday, March 10, 2023, Stouffville, ON, Canada Dear Stork -   If as thalaivar said, we are to stage our life into multiples of 8, Skanda has completed the first stage - the playful age (ref: video below). He has turned 8. The last year had been great. His love for books continues to grow, but he's not liking Sherlock for some reason - avoids it like the plague. Outside the books, he's into gaming -  I purchased a copy of Minecraft, and he's been in love with that ever since (more Books/LEGO/Toys). So much that he has polluted my YouTube account history with just Minecraft videos. BTW, thanks for the delivery of his little cousin - Adhiyan Nash - he's so awesome! When Adhiyan turned one, we all drove down south in a modified Subaru Outback which Skanda really enjoyed

The Travails Of Avvai Sundari

Five years ago, around this time, Skanda was left under my care for fifteen days by his amma, Praneetha. On a daily-basis, I had documented that day's most interesting happening/tidbits via Facebook. You can read them here or on Facebook . In all, a re-run of past events.   Timeline: Jan 30, 2018 until Feb 13, 2018. Day one, being a single parent. Casualty: Morning coffee. Down hill after that. Note: Skanda was at his best behavior. Day two, being a single parent. Smooth as Silk. Ethu pannalum, plan panni pannanum. Day three, being a single parent. Two minutes silence for "Ethu pannalum, plan panni pannanum." Even the best-laid plans fail. How I feel, minus the getup change. Day four, being a single parent. It was Friday. All is well! Dreadful two days ahead? Let's see how that goes. Day five, being a single parent. You don't need alcohol to get high. Just a running toddler will get you high on everything. Unless you nee
